Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing, US, has announced that the beta version of the Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source database is now available on EBSCOhost. Dental practitioners and researchers can now have a definitive place to start and finish their online dental literature research.
The new database contains cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for 160 journals and dozens of monographs. Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source also includes indexing for all dentistry and oral sciences journals commonly purchased by dental schools and other related institutions. The database includes a collection of important full-text journals, as well as dozens of full-text monographs. The collection includes more than 130 journals, including many of the top ranked titles in the discipline.
As part of this initiative, EBSCO has created backfiles of indexing, abstracts and full text for dozens of years for many publications. Most have already been completed and the rest are expected to be available before the end of 2009. Searchable cited references are also included for 100 journals, with links to the complete text of many of the original works.
The full version is scheduled for release on June 1, 2009, with full backfiles available before the end of 2009.
