BioMed announces winners of open access research awards -

Open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has announced the winners of its Annual Research Awards that recognise excellence in open access research published across its journals each year.

The winning articles, selected by internationally renowned judges, have been chosen for their innovation and high-quality execution and discussion. These winners will automatically be shortlisted for the overall BioMed Central Research Award, the winner of which will be announced at the BioMed Central Research Awards ceremony.

The Open Data Award, sponsored by LabArchives, seeks to recognise researchers who have published in BioMed Central journals and have demonstrated leadership in the sharing, standardisation, publication, or re-use of biomedical research data. The award is selected by a judging panel with particular interests in scientific data sharing and publication.

The winning articles will be announced at a ceremony held in London on May 17, 2012. Awards for Case Report of the Year, Open Access Advocate/Institution of the Year and Editor of the Year will also be presented.
