Open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has announced the launch of a new journal - Microbial Informatics and Experimentation. Prof. Barry Wanner from the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University, and Prof. Michael Wise from the University of Western Australia, will serve as the Editors-in-Chief of the journal.
Microbial Informatics and Experimentation will publish quality research related to the application of computational methods to data from microbial organisms and systems.
The journal covers a wide range of topics, from microbial systems biology to metagenomics.
The journal aims to be a resource for both computational and experimental scientists, in which computational methods inform experimentation, and vice versa. All articles published by Microbial Informatics and Experimentation are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.
BioMed Central is working closely with Thomson Reuters (ISI) to ensure that citation analysis of articles published in Microbial Informatics and Experimentation will be available.
