Open access publisher BioMed Central, US, has announced the launch of a new journal - Molecular Cytogenetics. The journal will include all aspects of chromosome biology and the application of molecular cytogenetic techniques in all areas of biomedicine.
Thomas Liehr of the Institute of Human Genetics and Anthropology, Lisa Shaffer of Signature Genomic Laboratories, and Yuri Yurov of the National Research Center of Mental Health will serve as Editors-in-Chief. They will be supported by an international Editorial Board.
The journal is claimed to be the first open access source for research concerning molecular cytogenetic techniques. It is projected as an international scientific platform for researchers who wish to improve or introduce molecular cytogenetic techniques into their practice.
