BioMed Central to publish Journal of the International AIDS Society -

Open access publisher BioMed Central, US, has announced that it is set to publish the Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS), which was recently re-launched at the International AIDS Conference in Mexico. After four years of collaboration with Medscape Journal of Medicine, which allowed JIAS to operate and grow under its umbrella, the journal will now operate as an independent journal.

An official journal of the International AIDS Society, JIAS will continue to publish articles dedicated to the dissemination of HIV-related research. The journal seeks to provide an open access forum for essential and innovative HIV/AIDS research. The society covers all journal publication costs, providing further support for authors wishing to submit to the journal.

The achievements of BioMed Central in the field of HIV/AIDS in recent years is perhaps best illustrated by the success of two sister journals - Retrovirology and AIDS Research and Therapy. JIAS will closely collaborate with these journals to serve the scientific community by disseminating a wide range of scientific findings in the field.
