BioMed journal supplement highlights proceedings of the International Meeting on Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune-Albright Syndrome and Cherubism -

Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, published by BioMed Central, has published a supplement of proceedings from the International Meeting on Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune-Albright Syndrome and Cherubism. The event was held in Bethesda, MD, USA, from October 3-5, 2010.

The aim of the conference was to address current understanding of the underlying molecular, cellular and clinical pathophysiology, current treatments, and future needs in the diseases fibrous dysplasia of bone (FD)/McCune-Albright syndrome (MAS) and cherubism.

Publication of the proceedings was funded by the Fibrous Dysplasia Foundation and an unrestricted grant from Zimmer. The supplement reports the significant advances presented at the meeting and highlights the importance of ultimately improving the quality of life for affected individuals and their families.
