BioOne, a publisher of scientific research, has announced that five new journals will join BioOne Complete™, its online aggregation of independently-published, subscribed and open-access titles. Joining the aggregation in January 2015 will be: Ameghiniana, published by the Argentine Paleontological Association; Candollea, published by the Conservatory and Botanical Garden of the City of Geneva, Switzerland; Journal of Wildlife Diseases, published by the Wildlife Disease Association; Polish Journal of Ecology, published by the Museum and Institute of Zoology, Polish Academy of Sciences; and Willdenowia, published by the Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem, Germany.
Each journal is a leader in its field and is ranked in Thomson Reuters' 2014 Journal Citation Reports®, thus enhancing the value of a BioOne Complete subscription for BioOne's subscribers worldwide. BioOne participation likewise represents a key step forward for each of these nonprofit publishers by making their content more accessible to a global audience. Four of these five new titles have previously been unavailable in full-text XML.
In 2015, BioOne Complete will be home to 184 total publications. Of this total, 74 percent are JCR-ranked, 25 percent are based outside of the US, and 45 percent are available online exclusively through the BioOne aggregation.
As of December 31, 2014, Freshwater Science, published by the Society for Freshwater Science, will cease adding new content to the BioOne aggregation. Interested parties may contact the University of Chicago Press, SFS' primary publisher, with any questions. In accordance with BioOne's commitment to perpetual access, all previously deposited Freshwater Science issues (2004-2014) will remain accessible to subscribers.
