Bioscientifica, the society publisher, and commercial subsidiary of the Society for Endocrinology, has acquired the European Thyroid Journal, the flagship publication of the European Thyroid Association. The publisher will also be moving the journal from a subscription to an open access model. This will remove all barriers to content in the journal, for the benefit of its existing community of thyroidologists, and enable the journal to reach new audiences.
For over 50 years, the European Thyroid Association has facilitated and disseminated knowledge in the thyroid science and research field. Since its launch in 2012, European Thyroid Journal has been a key vessel for that mission. The journal received its first impact factor in July 2019, and manuscript submissions have tripled since then. With its move to open access, the journal aims to become the ‘go to’ resource for the most topical thyroid research.
All future submissions to the European Thyroid Journal will be handled by Bioscientifica, effective March 29, 2021. The first fully open access issue will be published in January 2022.
