BMJ Group appoints Dr Mark Beattie as new editor of Archives of Disease in Childhood -

Medical publisher BMJ Group has announced the appointment of Dr Mark Beattie, as the new editor for its specialist title, Archives of Disease in Childhood. The journal is co-owned with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Dr Beattie, has been an associate editor of the title since 2006. He succeeds Professor Howard Bauchner, who left to become the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) earlier this year.

Before taking up posts as consultant paediatric gastroenterologist and honorary senior lecturer in paediatrics at Southampton General Hospital in 2000, Dr Beattie was a consultant paediatrician at Peterborough District Hospital. His areas of expertise include general paediatrics, paediatric gastroenterology and the nutritional management of complex disease.

Archives of Disease in Childhood, which publishes monthly, claims to be one of the leading titles in the field of paediatrics, with an impact factor of 2.1616. The journal includes a separate Fetal and Neonatal Edition, and Education and Practice, both of which publish bi-monthly.
