BMJ Group launches new Evidence Centre -

Medical information publisher BMJ Group, UK, has announced the launch of the new BMJ Evidence Centre. The new Evidence Centre aims to facilitate the crucial role that all health care workers play in interpreting and using the vast array of health care information to improve the care of their patients.

Every year over 2,00,000 new research articles are published in over 40 medical specialties. The BMJ Evidence Centre will provide comprehensive evidence based answers to clinical questions and easy to use information that improves clinical outcomes and informs policies and service design. The centre now provides point of care and reference tools to health care professionals; advice materials for patients; and access to evidence based content such as care pathways, training, white papers, newsletters and commissioned evidence reviews.

The product portfolio from the Evidence Centre includes Clinical Evidence, Best Health and Evidence Updates. This will be followed next year by Best Practice - a comprehensive on-line point of care tool, and Order Sets which will provide the resources clinicians need to employ effective disease management.

To help determine the strategic direction for the Evidence Centre, the BMJ Group has also appointed an International Advisory Board.
