Medical publisher BMJ Group, UK, has announced its participation at the 2009 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, April 4-8, 2009, at McCormick Place in Chicago. HIMSS09 is expected to attract about 30,000 attendees, supposedly ranking it as one of the largest healthcare IT and management systems conferences in the world.
BMJ has partnered with US-based clinical information products and services provider Epocrates, Inc, to create BMJ Point of Care, a diagnostic and treatment guidance tool. Designed from the ground up with point-of-care needs in mind, the product features original, peer-reviewed disease diagnosis and treatment content authored by physician experts in collaboration with the BMJ Group. In addition, BMJ Point of Care disease monographs contain embedded, context-specific links to medical evidence in BMJ Clinical Evidence, as well as links to Epocrates' extensive drug database. BMJ will be demonstrating BMJ Point of Care at the HIMSS exhibit floor.
