Boopsie reports notable growth in 2015 with impressive awards and new content and technology partners -

Boopsie, a mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide, reported on its remarkable growth in 2015, which includes an impressive number of awards and recognitions, three new content and technology partners, four new updates to its app and services, over 50 new libraries that utilise its white label platform-as-a-service to deliver library services to their unique communities, a number of awards and honours, and joining the Demco family of companies.

Boopsie's latest content and technology partnerships span the information industry to include Zinio, Recorded Books and iVerse Media, and Baker & Taylor. Through these partnerships, Boopsie now offers instant access to Zinio's over 3,000 online magazine titles, Recorded Books and iVerse Media's over 10,000 digital comics and graphic novels, and Baker & Taylor's Axis 360, the digital media platform that provides easy access to digital information and entertainment materials. These partnerships have formed the foundation for the majority of Boopsie customers upgrading their contracts with Boopsie to the most robust "Optimum Plus" package in order to help libraries deliver their services to patrons and students.

New product features launched by the company include Ratings and Reviews, which allows users to leave a 1 to 5 star rating and review for any title in their library's catalogue. Additionally, the newly added Top 20 Books channel offers a data-driven carousel of book titles that are currently trending as the most popular with the over 3 million users of Boopsie's mobile app platform. The year 2015 saw Boopsie's AccessILS platform become the de facto standard for integration of digital catalogues with legacy library content management systems worldwide, reducing vendor resources required to integrate with various desktop and mobile technologies used throughout the industry. Boopsie also introduced a new app offering, Express, and price point for small and rural libraries, making its customized mobile apps that increase usage and promote engagement with library resources more accessible than ever.

Boopsie continued its impressive customer growth. New customers added this year represent various information industries. In the public library space, Boopsie created customized apps for Auckland Libraries, libraries in The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC), Napa County Library, Sonoma County Library, libraries in Ohio through OHIONET, and many more. In the academic space, new customers include Abu Dhabi University, Murray State University, Treasure Valley Community College, Hollins University, Woodbury University, and Long Beach City College. Each of these new customers has partnered with Boopsie to create a customised mobile app to connect library users with the highest quality resources — from renowned vendors like OverDrive, ProQuest, EBSCO, LexisNexis, the newly added Comics Plus: Library Edition, and Recorded Books — on a user-friendly, native mobile interface.

Boopsie started 2015 strong with its president, Tony Medrano, serving as a panelist on the 2015 RMG’s Annual President’s Seminar, an event that invites global library industry executives to discuss initiatives and trends that impact libraries. Medrano will reprise his position as panelist in the upcoming 2016 seminar, further establishing the company as a leading voice for mobile apps in the library space. In addition to this recognition, Boopsie also saw customer satisfaction reach 95% through quarterly surveys of customers throughout 2015. Ending the year on just as strong of a note, the company was honoured with a Modern Library Awards Silver Distinction in December of 2015.
