The Bradford University Repository Project (BURP) is ready for launch. The Project Team of the 1-year project has announced the forthcoming launch of Bradford Scholars - the University of Bradford online research archive. The archive is already available to users for viewing existing materials and contributing new content.
The archive currently hosts about 400 full digital objects ranging from traditional journal articles and conference papers to theses and video recordings. Scholarly materials hosted in Bradford Scholars may be browsed on-site at http://bradscholars.brad.ac.uk or located via any search engine. Furthermore, content is completely open access and free to any web user.
Bradford Scholars is registered with a number of repository registries, hubs and search services, including OpenDOAR, ROAR, Scientific Commons, Intute Repository Search and NDLTD. The archive also interacts with the University's current Blackboard VLE, Metalib and the forthcoming new library catalogue Encore. The new content management systems soon to roll out on campus will also permit staff to receive live feeds from the repository to their personal webpages.
