Library solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced that the Brigham Young University Library has chosen the company's Primo discovery and delivery solution. The university is also in the process of implementing Verde and SFX, two Ex Libris products which enable electronic resource management and effective end user links.
Primo will serve as a unified interface for searching and retrieving all library resources, regardless of format and location. The service will enable the library to present its complete collection in an entirely new way, offering users a single point of access to this wealth of information.
Primo is claimed to be a one-stop solution for the discovery and delivery of local and remote resources, such as books, journal articles, and digital objects. It assists libraries in exposing the richness of their collections and engaging users with an up-to-date discovery and delivery experience. Primo services can be embedded in commonly used applications such as course management systems and institutional portals, enabling a library to meet the needs of users wherever they are.
