Academic publisher Brill, Netherlands, has released BrillOnline.com, the brand new resource center for study and research. BrillOnline.com provides the academic user access to Brill's wide collection of e-books, online journals, online reference works and online bibliographies. At launch BrillOnline.com contains more than 800,000 documents.
Projected as the next generation online resource center for students, researchers and teachers in academia, BrillOnline aims to offer these users the best of today's functionality and features in online publishing. In order to generate the optimal user experience, the content is clustered according to its nature and to the functionality required and presented on three platforms - for electronic books and journals: booksandjournals.brillonline.com; for online reference works: referenceworks.brillonline.com; and for online bibliographies: bibliographies.brillonline.com.
At launch, BrillOnline contains 110,000 journal articles, 40,000 e-book chapters, 150,000 reference articles, and 510,000 bibliographic entries. New product and more content will be added continuously.
TheBrillOnline.com platforms will gradually replace Brill's current online services on IngentaConnect, brillonline.nl, and nijhoffonline.nl. In the coming period Brill will support its customers worldwide through the transition. BrillOnline.com will run parallel with the online services that are being replaced until all the necessary adjustments are made.
