The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) has announced that Professor Stuart Taylor has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief (Medical) of the British Journal of Radiology (BJR), effective from January 1, 2025.
Prof. Taylor is a renowned expert in medical imaging, serving as Professor of Medical Imaging at the Centre for Medical Imaging at University College London (UCL). He is also an NIHR Senior Investigator and the Chair of the National NIHR Imaging Group. His research focuses on advancing imaging technologies, particularly in the fields of CT colonography, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, and colorectal diagnosis and staging.
Prof. Taylor succeeds Dr. Simon Jackson, who has dedicated the last eight years to leading the journal, contributing to its growth and reputation. He has served on the BJR Editorial Board for over 14 years, providing invaluable guidance and expertise. His leadership has been instrumental in maintaining the journal’s high standards. Prof. Taylor will be working alongside Prof. Andrew Nisbet, who continues his role as Editor-in-Chief (Scientific). Together, they will lead the BJR Editorial Board and steer the journal’s strategic direction, ensuring its continued success and impact in the field of radiology.
