The British Journal of Haematology (BJHaem) has named Dr. Andrew Evens as its new Editor-in-Chief, effective January 1, 2025. Dr. Evens, a renowned haematologist and leader in oncology, will steer the journal’s efforts to advance scientific innovation and clinical practice in haematology globally.
Dr. Evens currently serves as Deputy Director for Clinical Services at the Rutgers Cancer Institute, Oncology Lead for RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, and System Director of Medical Oncology for RWJBarnabas Health. His editorial experience includes serving as Associate Editor of BJHaem from 2012 to 2019 and as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of eJHaem, a Gold Open Access journal launched in 2020 by the British Society for Haematology (BSH) and Wiley.
With over two decades of clinical and academic experience focusing on lymphoid malignancies, Dr. Evens has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications. He is committed to maintaining BJHaem’s legacy of publishing high-quality research while expanding its scope to reflect emerging scientific trends.
In light of Dr. Evens' new role, eJHaem will welcome Dr. Phillip Scheinberg as its next Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Scheinberg, Chief of Hematology at Hospital A Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paulo in Brazil, has been an Associate Editor at BJHaem since 2019. His research focuses on bone marrow failure syndromes, with significant contributions to treatment and understanding of these disorders.
Both appointments underscore the journals' commitment to excellence in haematology research and practice.
