Bruce Heterick, ITHAKA Vice President of Institutional Participation and Strategic Partnerships, has been named Senior Vice President, Open Collections & Infrastructure.
In his new role, Bruce will lead the efforts to work with libraries and consortia to accelerate the availability and utility of openly accessible collections by enabling them to digitize, upload, catalogue, publish, and preserve their materials on the JSTOR platform. The goal is to help libraries leverage the community-wide investment in JSTOR by placing their own collections on one of the most heavily used research platforms in the world. This will create new opportunities for research and learning by assembling related content from across institutional boundaries, together with the vast collection of high-quality books, journals, and images already available on JSTOR.
Bruce has been responsible for growing and deepening ITHAKA’s relationships with libraries for nearly 20 years.
Bruce will further our work to develop the JSTOR Forum and Reveal Digital services, and will lead strategic discussions with libraries about how we continue to grow and co-create the next generation of JSTOR as a robust, sustainable platform for open collections.
