CABI and Agricultural Research Council sign three-year publication agreement -

CABI, a not-for-profit scientific research and publishing organization, has entered into a three-year publication agreement with South Africa’s Agricultural Research Council (ARC). The arrangement covers author fees in full for publishing in CABI’s open access journals and includes read access to several additional publications.

The agreement enables corresponding authors affiliated with ARC to publish without article processing charges in CABI Agriculture and Bioscience, CABI One Health, European Journal of Horticultural Science, and Human-Animal Interactions.

ARC stated that the arrangement provides researchers with a direct route to publish in specialist agriculture and life sciences journals while removing financial barriers. CABI noted that several South African editors, including representatives from ARC, contribute to its journals and provide detailed feedback to strengthen both the articles and the authors’ research capabilities.

This is the first open access institutional agreement for CABI’s journals. It reflects the growth of its publishing portfolio alongside established resources such as CAB Abstracts. CABI emphasized its commitment to lowering barriers to publication, broadening authorship diversity, and expanding its global network, particularly across the Global South.
