Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced that California State University San Marcos has selected the Alma library management service and the Primo discovery and delivery solution.
The university library will consolidate library operations under Alma, which will replace a number of systems including the Innovative Interfaces Millennium integrated library system and Ex Libris SFX OpenURL link resolver.
The decision to collaborate with Ex Libris came as part of a campus-wide strategy to migrate systems to the cloud with the goal of reducing the technical burden on library staff members so that they can focus on other initiatives. The sophisticated relevance ranking and intuitive interface of Primo were also important factors in the university's decision.
CSU San Marcos is the second member of the California State University system to opt for Alma, joining California State University, Sacramento.
