As excitement builds following a successful NISO Plus Global/Online conference, organizers are now turning their attention to the upcoming NISO Plus Baltimore event. Scheduled to take place in person at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront from February 10–12, 2025, this conference promises to be a valuable opportunity for professionals in the information community to come together and address critical challenges in scholarly communications.
Organizers invite participants to submit session proposals focused on innovative solutions and strategies to tackle pressing issues within the information ecosystem. NISO Plus Baltimore encourages contributions from all areas of the scholarly communications community, including libraries, publishers, scholarly infrastructure and technology providers, government agencies, and more. Whether you are an experienced leader or a newcomer to the field, your insights are welcome.
Sessions at the conference are designed to foster collaboration and meaningful discussion, featuring approximately 45 minutes of presentation or panel discussion, followed by a 30- to 35-minute Q&A period. This format allows attendees to engage with the content, share experiences, and brainstorm solutions to common challenges.
In line with NISO's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA), organizers strongly encourage proposals that reflect a range of perspectives, both geographical and organizational. Proposals should address DEIA challenges and opportunities, ideally including confirmed speakers or potential invitees.
All proposals must be submitted by November 1, 2024. The NISO Plus 2025 Planning Committee will review submissions and announce decisions by November 15, 2024.
NISO Plus Baltimore is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of scholarly communications, and your ideas are crucial to ensuring a comprehensive discussion of the field’s most important topics.
