Academic publisher Cambridge University Press and Chinese Laser Press will be launching a new open access journal from 2013.
The new journal, High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPLaser), will be an online-only (printed version available only in China), international and peer-reviewed journal focusing on all aspects of high power laser science and engineering. HPLaser will be dedicated to strengthening the exchange of information in this area.
HPLaser covers topics in both physics and engineering, and aims to be the leading international journal combining high power laser science and engineering. The journal will build on the need to strengthen information exchange in the area of high power lasers, with research of the highest quality and act as an academic forum for scientists and engineers in this field to share their latest discoveries.
For the first year, Cambridge University Press and Chinese Laser Press will waive publication costs, and after this a low article processing charge (APC) of £1,000/$1,500 will be set.
High Power Laser Science and Engineering will be hosted on Cambridge's industry leading platform, Cambridge Journals Online (CJO), and Chinese Laser Press's journal online platform. Content will be available online from the beginning of 2013. All articles will be handled according to the highest standards of peer-review and produced to the high quality production values associated with Cambridge University Press. The journal will publish original articles, rapid communications (letters), invited reviews and comments.
