Cambridge University Press (CUP), the publishing division of the UK's University of Cambridge, has announced that Michael Peluse will join the New York office as Managing Director, Americas, effective January 2012. He will also serve as global Managing Director for English Language Teaching, a division which accounts for over a third of Cambridge's publishing sales revenue.
Peluse comes to New York from Spain where, as Director of the Cambridge's Iberia office, he led an unprecedented period of growth. During his tenure, the branch opened two new offices in Madrid and Barcelona, underwent a restructuring to more closely integrate editorial and marketing departments, and developed several key new products including the Discovery publishing programme, which provides innovative solutions to educational needs in a digital age. Prior to his tenure at Cambridge, Peluse held key positions at McGraw-Hill and Santillana.
Peluse fills the position upon the departure of President of Cambridge University Press, Americas, Dr. Richard Ziemacki.
