Cambridge University Press redesigns Cambridge Journals Online -

Cambridge University Press, the publishing division of the University of Cambridge, recently launched a new version of its electronic platform, Cambridge Journals Online (CJO) with a streamlined and updated design. The changes make it quicker and easier to access journal content and key information, and improve the overall user experience. The key processes of content discovery, registration and personalisation, for both users and administrators, have all been simplified.

The general underlying functionality of the site is unchanged and all the URLs associated with CJO will remain the same. Readers will not be required to change their bookmarks and librarians will not need to modify their catalogue links. Access to the redesigned site is now available via http://journals.cambridge.org.

CJO is updated with three releases of new functionality per year, all informed by consultations within the academic and library communities. The launch of the new design forms just one of those releases in 2010 and further improvements will be implemented in the next CJO release scheduled for December. The press also plans to introduce faceted searching across CJO and Cambridge Books Online before the next full release.
