The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has announced that Gloria Booth-Morrison has joined the organization as ORCID-CA Member Support Specialist, effective August 8, 2017.
Gloria comes to CRKN from the University of Ottawa, an ORCID-CA member, where she worked as a Science and Engineering Librarian. As part of her role there, she designed and delivered workshops relating to journal selection, authors' rights, and citation metrics.
She previously served as Special Projects Librarian at Concordia University, where she played a key role in the large scale assessment of print and electronic collections. Gloria has in-depth knowledge of the research needs of the academic community as well as the scholarly publishing environment. She also has a strong background in technical support.
In her role as ORCID-CA Member Support Specialist, Gloria will provide front-line support and serve as the primary contact with members in both official languages. She will manage and support new members, provide administrative support, and be the central technical support contact to all ORCID-CA members. Gloria will also develop training materials, tools, and guides for members to use within their own institutions, by adapting existing ORCID materials to the bilingual Canadian context.
