Canadian Science Publishing has appointed Isabel C. Barrio as co-Editor-in-Chief of Arctic Science. She joins Mark Mallory in leading the open-access interdisciplinary journal published by Canadian Science Publishing.
Dr. Barrio’s research focuses on plant-herbivore interactions in tundra ecosystems and the impacts of grazing in highland ranges. She also leads the Herbivory Network, an international collaboration studying herbivore roles in tundra and alpine environments. Her fieldwork has spanned regions including the Canadian Arctic, Mongolia, Costa Rica, and Australia.
Her appointment is expected to strengthen the journal’s focus on ecological and environmental challenges in northern polar regions and support its mission to publish high-impact, inclusive research addressing climate and ecosystem change.
