CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) specializing in scientific knowledge management, has announced the 35 early-career scientists selected for the 2025 CAS Future Leaders™ program. Representing 12 countries, this year’s participants are engaged in research spanning nanotechnology, computational chemistry, materials science, green chemistry, and other emerging disciplines.
The in-person program, scheduled for August 2025, will provide participants with leadership training, career development workshops, mentorship opportunities with industry leaders, and discussions on advancing scientific research. The initiative fosters networking among early-career researchers, equipping them with the skills necessary to enhance their impact within the scientific community.
CAS has reported a record number of applications for this year’s program, underscoring its growing recognition among researchers. The selected participants will engage in activities designed to enhance leadership and communication skills, preparing them for future roles as independent investigators and scientific leaders.
Participants will also gain exclusive insight into CAS operations, including how the organization supports scientific discovery by providing access to and analysis of global research publications. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to present their research at the ACS Fall 2025 conference in Washington, DC, and will receive a three-year ACS membership.
Beyond the 35 in-person participants, CAS will extend virtual programming and additional career development support to 65 additional researchers through the CAS Future Leaders Top 100 initiative.
