Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) has announced the addition of funder data to Ringgold Organizations, a persistent identifier solution widely used by publishers, service providers, and funders. The update introduces more than 21,000 funder records, including a unique Ringgold Funder ID, funder hierarchies, and additional metadata.
The expanded dataset is designed to reduce manual reconciliation by providing standardized, high‑quality funder records, improve publishing workflows through more accurate data integration, and offer insights into the funding landscape to identify risks and opportunities.
Ringgold Organizations currently contains over 776,000 organization records, each with a unique Ringgold ID, structured hierarchies, and descriptive metadata. It remains the only solution that leverages organization hierarchies and consortium associations to describe complex relationships within the scholarly communications ecosystem.
Ringgold is part of CCC’s Scholarly Communications Suite, which includes RightsLink for Scientific Communications, OA Intelligence, and RightsLink Author Services. Together, these solutions help publishers normalize and disambiguate data, enrich datasets, manage article processing charges and open access agreements, and adapt to evolving publishing models.
CCC continues to advocate for copyright globally through engagement with governments, stakeholders, and individuals, offering educational programming and resources from copyright organizations. Its voluntary collective rights licensing solutions include ACL for Business, Multinational Copyright License (MCL) for Business, ACL for Higher Education, AI Systems Training License, and ACL for Student Assessments. CCC also provides integrated software solutions that allow users to request, receive, and pay for full‑text content and permissions to reuse content.
