Cengage Learning’s Aplia learning solution wins eSchool Media Readers’ Choice award -

Cengage Learning, a US-based provider of innovative teaching, learning and research solutions, has announced that its Aplia line of digital products has been selected for an eSchool Media 2012-2013 Readers’ Choice Award. The award is given annually to K-12 and higher education technology products that make a difference in the classroom.

Aplia is an interactive homework solution developed by teachers to increase student effort and engagement. Aplia’s content is authored specifically for the digital medium and features immediate, detailed and actionable feedback. The auto-grading saves instructor time and lets them focus on value-add activities that further improve student learning. In addition, real-time performance data allows instructors to customise lesson plans as needed based on trouble spots individually or class-wide.

Available in over 21 different course areas including Biology, Political Science and Economics, Aplia has gained popularity for its ability to increase student preparedness and drive better learning outcomes in the classroom. Aplia is also well-known for its simplicity of design, ease of use, reliability and customer support.

Aplia technology and solutions will soon be made available as part of the MindTap platform. Customers of Aplia electing to migrate to MindTap will benefit from the added Learning Path, LMS and services features (or functionality) provided by the MindTap solution. This integration of technologies will further advance the quality of learning and teaching solutions in the higher education market.

The winners of the Readers' Choice Awards were chosen by the editors of eSchool Media from almost 1,300 nominations. eSchool Media (eSchoolNews.com, eCampusNews.com, and eClassroomNews.com) asked readers to nominate their favourite technology products to use in the classroom and to describe how they improve teaching and learning. The winners were narrowed down to 50 and then grouped into two categories – K-12 and higher education.
