Fundación Universitaria San Pablo CEU (CEU), a prestigious Spanish educational network, has announced its selection of OCLC's WorldShare Management Services (WMS) to manage its vast library system. This move brings a unified platform to 20 CEU libraries, serving over 96,000 users across various institutions.
The WMS platform will act as a central hub, streamlining essential library functions for CEU's diverse institutions. These include CEU Schools, the CEU Teaching School in Vigo, San Pablo CEU Foundation in Andalusia, CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, San Pablo CEU University in Madrid, Abat Oliba University in Barcelona, and the ACdP association.
Beyond streamlining operations, WMS offers several key benefits:
• Unified Catalog: A single, searchable catalog will be created using WorldCat Discovery, allowing users to explore the combined collections of all participating CEU libraries.
• Enhanced Workflow Efficiency: WMS facilitates streamlined workflows, reducing IT support requirements and simplifying library resource management across all formats.
• Global Knowledge Network: Joining OCLC connects CEU to a vast network of libraries worldwide, fostering interlibrary collaboration and knowledge sharing.
This adoption of WMS reflects CEU's unwavering commitment to innovation and utilizing cutting-edge technology to empower its students and faculty. The platform ensures improved access to information resources, contributing to a more enriching learning and research environment.
