Charlesworth Group collaborates with CrossRef to create reference DOI links -

Publishing solutions provider The Charlesworth Group, UK recently joined as an affiliate member and allied vendor for CrossRef Publisher Services. The move is in response to publisher client requests to create reference DOI (digital object identifier) links in the XML Charlesworth production services and in order to produce hyperlink PDFs.

Charlesworth China production services utilises the CrossRef DOI search and resolution function to incorporate into their clients' XML files prior to delivery for online hosting. The DOI search is also used for automated validation of references against CrossRef data during the data capture and conversion process. This allows Charlesworth journal production services to be a one-stop-shop for journals to publish their content faster, more accurately, and with greater crosslinking. The DOI serves as a persistent, actionable identifier for intellectual property online.

CrossRef is the official DOI registration agency for scholarly and professional publications, including journals, books and other content types. It provides primary publishers with the organisational and technological backbone to facilitate linking by associating DOIs with publisher metadata. As a CrossRef affiliate, Charlesworth can create links to all CrossRef member publishers without signing bilateral linking agreements and without having to track publishers' individual linking schemes.

Since 2007, CrossRef has employed the Charlesworth China's global Rights & Licensing team to create and host a Chinese language web site (www.crossref.org.cn) as well as translate and print their promotional literature.
