Clarivate launches Library Innovation Awards to recognize excellence in academic and public libraries -

Clarivate has announced the launch of the inaugural Clarivate Library Innovation Awards, a new annual program designed to recognize innovative projects and initiatives led by academic, national, and public libraries worldwide. The awards are open to members of ELUNA, IGeLU, IUG, and library consortia within the global Clarivate community.

The program aims to highlight projects that demonstrate measurable impact in areas such as community engagement, patron services, student outcomes, operational effectiveness, digital inclusion, accessibility, sustainability, and other priorities aligned with library missions. Submissions may include initiatives involving new service models, technology use, or data-driven approaches, regardless of whether Clarivate solutions were directly involved.

An independent panel of judges drawn from international library organizations will evaluate submissions based on criteria including originality, impact, scalability, sustainability, mission alignment, inclusion, technology role and clarity. Finalists will be announced at Clarivate international user group conferences in 2026, with selected libraries receiving sponsored attendance for two staff members.

Libraries are invited to submit projects or initiatives that were launched or significantly advanced within the past 24 months. Entrants are asked to describe objectives, implementation, measurable impact, sustainability, and lessons learned, supported by evidence and insights.

Clarivate stated that the awards are intended to recognize the role of libraries in addressing evolving challenges related to digital demands and budget constraints, and changing community needs, while showcasing approaches that strengthen access to knowledge and services globally.
