The CLOCKSS Board of Directors has announced that six journals previously published by EMH Swiss Medical Publishers have been triggered and made openly accessible, following the publisher’s closure in 2024. As the content had remained unavailable online for six months, CLOCKSS has now activated access under a CC-BY Creative Commons license, ensuring continued public availability in accordance with its digital preservation mandate.
The journals now accessible through CLOCKSS include:
• Cardiovascular Medicine
• Primary and Hospital Care – Deutsche Ausgabe
• Primary and Hospital Care – Édition Française
• Swiss Archives of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
• Swiss Medical Forum – Deutsche Ausgabe
• Swiss Medical Forum – Édition Française
A partial collection of archived content from these journals had been deposited for preservation in the CLOCKSS Archive. Efforts are ongoing to recover and provide access to the complete journal collections, and CLOCKSS has invited libraries holding print copies to assist in the digitization process. Institutions that can contribute archived materials are encouraged to contact info@clockss.org.
CLOCKSS has noted that content in the French and German editions of the affected journals may vary slightly, and readers searching for specific articles are advised to check both language versions where applicable.
Additionally, Swiss Medical Weekly, another journal previously published by EMH Swiss Medical Publishers, remains available online through its supporting association and continues to be preserved within the CLOCKSS Archive.
