Co-Action Publishing, Sweden, has announced that it is set to publish the journal Medical Education Online (MEO). Since its inception in 1996, the journal has been self-published by Scholar Publisher and Chief Editor David Solomon of Michigan State University and more recently Co-Editor Ann Frye, University of Texas Medical Branch.
Medical Education Online claims to be the first ever freely available online journal in the field of medical education. It has become a highly ranked source of information in this area of medicine with indexing in PubMed/MEDLINE and inclusion in PubMed Central. The journal
has disseminated peer reviewed information on the education and training of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Plans for 2010 include an expansion of the editorial board to reflect the global reach of the journal and the introduction of a new section on an emerging sub-area within medical education to be announced during the spring. Medical Education Online (MEO) can be accessed at www.med-ed-online.net.
