Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press appoints David Crotty as Executive Director -

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) announced the appointment of David Crotty as Executive Director of CSHL Press, succeeding John Inglis, who has led the publisher since 1987. Crotty will oversee the next phase of growth for one of the most influential scholarly publishers in molecular biology and life sciences.

CSHL Press publishes eight scientific journals, including Genes & Development, and maintains more than 200 book titles ranging from laboratory manuals to educational works. The publishing house also played a founding role in creating the biomedical preprint servers bioRxiv and medRxiv.

Crotty previously held senior editorial positions at CSHL Press, Oxford University Press, and consulting firm Clarke & Esposito. He holds a doctorate in Genetics and Development from Columbia University and assumes leadership of CSHL Press effective December 1, 2025.
