Medical publishing company Cold Spring Publishing, LLC, US, has announced the launch of a clinical journal - The Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology. The journal is targeted at nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, advanced practice nurses, and physician's assistants who practice in the field of oncology. With a target circulation of over 7,000, the journal will be distributed at no charge to qualifying recipients in the US. The inaugural issue of the journal is scheduled for May 2010. The journal will then publish 6 times a year.
Pamela Hallquist Viale, an oncology nurse consultant and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Nursing, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. Viale has over 25 years of experience as an oncology nurse, clinical nurse specialist and oncology nurse practitioner. She has published and lectured widely on a number of topics, with a focus on symptom management and colorectal cancer.
The journal content will include clinical reviews, original research, translational research summaries, pharmacologic reviews, case studies, national practice profiles, news updates, professional development articles, patient information, and more. The journal will also have an on-line platform at www.AdvancedPractitioner.com.
