Collexis Holdings names Mark Murphy as CFO -

Knowledge management and discovery software developer Collexis Holdings, Inc., US, has announced the appointment of Mark Murphy as the company's chief financial officer.

With over 30 years of public financial management expertise, Murphy will be responsible for all of Collexis' accounting operations, including financial reporting and corporate governance, internal controls (SOX) and compliance. Prior to this, he served as the senior vice president of finance for PCA International, Inc., where he directed all finance and treasury functions.

Collexis develops applications that range from search tools for users' websites to highly sophisticated discovery applications that are utilised by the intelligence community and R&D organisations worldwide. These applications allow users to identify and search for documents, experts, trends or new discoveries that may be hidden in the materials. In addition, the company now offers the world's first pre-populated professional social network for life science researchers, www.biomedexperts.com. Collexis software creates profiles of text - web pages, documents, e- mails, speech transcripts, grants, etc. These profiles represent the key ideas or concepts in those texts and are presented in a format known as the Collexis Fingerprint. Once Collexis has profiled a set of text, the Fingerprints (or document profiles) are used to create the applications.
