Contributions to Entomology Indexed in Scopus and Advances through ARPHA Platform -

Contributions to Entomology, a peer-reviewed open access journal of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research, is now indexed in Scopus, enhancing visibility and discoverability for articles published in the journal. Scopus indexing reflects compliance with criteria for editorial quality, ethical publishing practices, consistent publication volume, rigorous peer-review standards, and strong international readership and citation performance. The journal is expected to receive a first Scopus CiteScore in June 2026.

The recognition follows steady improvements in submissions, readership, and research quality. Supported by the Senckenberg German Entomological Institute, the journal continues to evolve with contributions from an active editorial team and engaged community of authors and reviewers.

Established in 1951 as Beiträge zur Entomologie, the journal has adapted alongside developments in entomological research. It has been published under the open access title Contributions to Entomology since 2017 and serves as the official journal of the German Society for General and Applied Entomology. The publication covers insect systematics, taxonomy, phylogeny, zoogeography, faunistics, ecology, applied entomology, entomological bibliography, and the history of entomology under a diamond open access model that supports free access and free publication for authors.

The journal has also expanded operationally through a transition to Pensoft’s ARPHA Platform. It is the fourth Senckenberg academic title to join the platform, following Arthropod Systematics & Phylogeny, Vertebrate Zoology, and Geologica Saxonica. Earlier agreements supported the relaunch of these titles under the Senckenberg Natural History Collections Dresden.
