Non-profit copyright licensing solutions provider Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), US, has announced that CCC Board of Directors member Roy S. Kaufman will join as Managing Director of New Ventures, reporting to CEO Tracey Armstrong.
Based in New York, Kaufman will be responsible for expanding capabilities as CCC develops new services for authors, publishers and other rightsholders. His seat on CCC’s Board of Directors will be vacated.
Prior to CCC, Kaufman served as lead counsel for the STM and Scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., working in all areas of licensing, contracts, strategic alliances and online publishing. The author of two books on publishing law, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Art Law Handbook, Kaufman speaks frequently on issues of copyright, artists’ rights and anti-piracy.
