Copyright Clearance Center on EContent 100 List for second consecutive year -

Non-profit copyright licensing solution provider Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), US, has announced that it has been named to the EContent 100, EContent magazine's list of the companies that matter most in the digital content industry, for the second consecutive year. The EContent 100 list represents the best digital content companies as selected by a panel of judges who follow different aspects of the industry.

CCC was honored in the 'Content Commerce' category for providing solutions that ease, simplify and accelerate buying and selling of digital content. The magazine singled out the performance of two CCC products, Rightsphere and Rightslink.

Introduced in June 2006, Rightsphere is a rights advisory and rights management solution for corporations. It helps businesses promote collaboration and sharing of published information while respecting copyright. It has been adopted by leading global corporations, including Pfizer, Philip Morris USA, AstraZeneca, Boeing Company, Novartis and Eli Lilly.

Rightslink is an online service that enables content users to purchase copyright permissions and reprints directly from content on the Web or in database services. The service has established itself as the de facto industry standard among major publishers for online rights and permissions. Publishers that have selected Rightslink include Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, O'Reilly Media, CMP Media, Reed Business Information, Oxford University Press, Nature Publishing Group, The University of Chicago Press, Blackwell Publishing, the American Medical Association, and BMJ Publishing Group.

The 2007 EContent 100 list is available in the December 2007 issue of EContent magazine and can be accessed online at www.econtentmag.com.
