Online reference library Credo Reference, US, garnered the highest scores of all 176 titles from 60 publishers evaluated in Library Journal's new 2009 E-Reference Ratings feature published in the November 15, 2008 issue.
Library Journal reviewed the best-known and respected electronic reference resources in fourteen key subject areas, judging them on seven criteria that librarians use most when considering what to buy. This includes their scope, writing, design, 'bells and whistles,' ease of use, linking and value. Of all the resources evaluated, Credo Reference received four-star ("excellent/comprehensive") ratings in all seven categories.
