CRKN launches 2019 Journal Value Analytics tool -

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has launched the 2019 Journal Value Analytics (JVA) tool for members. Compiled annually, the JVA tool combines pricing, subject, and usage data to evaluate CRKN-licensed journal packages and provides a broad perspective of member collections at the title level. This year’s JVA tool includes the two major CRKN journal licenses currently up for renewal: Springer and Taylor & Francis.

Every year, the JVA tool is enhanced based on member input and availability of data. Last year, open access data and year of publication usage data as well as improved subject data (normalised according to Ulrich’s) were added.

In 2019, CRKN enhanced the JVA tool by providing current publisher subject data alongside normalised Ulrich’s subject data, enhanced status details for all titles, and three years’ worth of historical data.
