Curtin University in Australia opts for Ex Libris Alma for Unified Resource Management -

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced that Australia's Curtin University has opted for the Ex Libris Alma next-generation resource management solution.

Already adopted by over 120 institutions worldwide, Alma - a single consolidated solution - will replace a number of Ex Libris systems currently used by the library. These include the Aleph integrated library system, the SFX OpenURL link resolver, the Verde electronic resource management (ERM) system, and the DigiTool digital asset management system.

As part of its ongoing drive to improve services, the Curtin University library identified the need for a next-generation library management system that would integrate print, electronic, and digital workflows and deliver substantial improvements in efficiency and productivity. With the Primo discovery platform in use since 2009, library staff understood that the unified approach of Alma to resource management - and the system's seamless integration with Primo - would make a good fit for the school. In addition, the solution's cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment will help Curtin University's library streamline its resource-management processes.
