De Gruyter announces reorganisation of its imprints -

Academic publishing house De Gruyter has announced the reorganisation of its imprints following the successful integration of Akademie and Oldenbourg Wissenschaftsverlag. As of January 2014, all titles in the fields of history, economics, computer science, and German-language engineering will be published under the 'De Gruyter Oldenbourg' brand. In addition, titles that are produced in cooperation with a scientific academy will appear under the 'De Gruyter Akademie Forschung' imprint.

A number of brands will remain unchanged: 'De Gruyter Mouton' for linguistics; 'De Gruyter Saur' for the library sciences; and the Swiss publisher 'Birkhäuser'. Periodicals, books, and databases in all other subject areas will be published under the umbrella brand of 'De Gruyter.'

The De Gruyter Group, which includes the publishing houses of De Gruyter Akademie Forschung, Birkhäuser, De Gruyter Mouton, De Gruyter Oldenbourg, De Gruyter Saur, and Versita, publishes over 1,300 new titles each year in the humanities, medicine, natural sciences, and law, more than 650 journals, and a variety of digital media. The company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany.
