Dermatology Nurses' Association tie up with LWW for official journal -

The Dermatology Nurses' Association (DNA), US, is set to release a new official journal published by Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins (LWW). The new journal - as yet unnamed - will be made available online in its entirety, in a bid to make it more easily accessible and interactive. The bimonthly, four-colour publication will be launched with the February 2009 issue.

With LWW as publisher, DNA expects to have increased exposure and recognition, as LWW markets to the more than 1 million subscribers. The DNA journal will be included on http://www.nursingcenter.com, a portal site to more than 50 nursing and healthcare journals from LWW and society partners. The site, which has 366,000 registrants and receives more than 170,000 unique visitors monthly, features a collection of online CE courses representing over 2,400 contact hours. Nursingcenter.com will offer CE test discounts to DNA members.

The current publishing partner had not given DNA the option of owning the journal. LWW will offer DNA the ability to own its journal and the freedom to reap financial benefits from that ownership. Subscriptions to the journal will cost $12 for members, which is seen as substantial savings over the current journal.
