Digital Science, Overleaf and Altmetric at The London Book Fair -

The London Book Fair (LBF) is an annual event that acts as a meeting point for publishers and distributors from a wide range of industries including print, audio, TV, film and digital. LBF sees more than 25,000 publishing professionals arrive in London for the event and this year, Digital Science's Director of Publishing Innovation Phill Jones, Overleaf's Cofounder John Hammersley and Altmetric's COO Kathy Christian, will be attending. The Fair is scheduled for March 14-16 at Olympia, West London.

Phill Jones will join Ingenta and a panel of experts to discuss the problems and challenges publishers face when trying to connect with readers. Technological tools that aid publishers in connecting with readers will be the main focus of the session, scheduled for March 14th 11:30 – 12:30 at 'The Faculty'.

Is the academic book losing out to the journal article? How can we measure the impact of academic books? New technologies and evolved metrics bring about huge opportunities for publishers, researchers, funders and academic institutions. Kathy Christian (Altmetric) will join a panel that will explore what new opportunities are available to publishers today and how publishers can integrate these new tools into their book publishing activities. The session 'Shaping the Story: How New Technologies are Bringing About the Next Chapter in Academic Book Publishing' is scheduled for March 14, 16:00 – 17:00 at The Faculty.

Facilitating global research and collaboration will be presented by Dr John Hammersley, CEO and Co-founder of Overleaf.
