Research technology company Digital Science Russia & CIS recently held their second annual Forum 'Digital Science - supporting global scientific cooperation and internationalising research in Russia'.
The event was supported on the highest level by Headquarters of Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences, and took place in Alexandrinsky Palace. The Digital Science Forum looked at the impact of new technologies on science, as well as the Russian and international experience in managing transformations and creating a digital infrastructure in the field of science and innovation. Other subjects discussed included blockchain, open science, and the formation of public policy in Russian science.
Digital Science announced an agreement at the event to provide researchers and students from the Consortium of Southern Universities of Russia with an access to both Figshare and Dimensions. This will help transform the way researchers manage, search and analyse research in Russia, and support student education.
The event included talks from global experts including Stefan von Holtzbrinck, owner of Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. Speakers included: Alexey Khokhlov, Vice-President of Russian Academy of Sciences; Marina Borovskaya, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education; Igor Osipov, CEO of Digital Science Russia; Roman Gurinovich, CEO and Founder of SCI.AI; Maxim Fedorov, Skoltech University Professor, Director for 'Big Data' Development Center of Skoltech; Gennady Eremenko, CEO and Founder of eLibrary/Russian Index for Science Citations; Inna Shevchenko, Acting Rector of Southern Federal University; Daniel Hook, CEO of Digital Science Global; Mark Hahnel, CEO and Founder of Figshare; Joris van Rossum, Director for Special Projects, Digital Science Global.
Igor Osipov, CEO of Digital Science Russia/CIS moderated the Forum. The event also discussed the future of Digital Science in Russia, EU, UK and globally in light of recent legislation and national STM strategies and developments.
