The first ORCID UK members' meeting will be held at Digital Science's London office, The Macmillan Building, 4 Crinan St, London N1 9XW, from 9.00am - 1.00pm on May 26.
The meeting will start with an ORCID Town Hall session for members in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (also available via webinar for UK members unable to attend in person and those outside the UK) followed by presentations from ORCID staff on ORCID adoption and use by the research community, including examples of ORCID integrations in funder, publishing, and research information systems. There will also be ample opportunity for discussion and Q&A.
For those who are not already familiar with ORCID, the organisation's vision is a world in which all those who participate in research, scholarship, and innovation are uniquely connected with their contributions and affiliations across disciplines, borders, and time. ORCID collaborates with all stakeholders in the research community (including Digital Science!) to connect researchers with their contributions.
Symplectic, ReadCube, Altmetric, Figshare, Overleaf and ÜberResearch all have integrations with ORCID. Digital Science has a strong commitment to facilitating interoperability with independent standards, identifiers, and metadata initiatives.
