DOAB awarded IFLA/Brill Open Access Award 2015 -

The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) has been awarded the IFLA/Brill Open Access Award for their achievements to further the distribution of high quality open access books. The award was presented during the 2015 IFLA World Library and Information Congress.

The IFLA World Library and Information Congress was held in Cape Town (SA) from August 15-21, 2015. It is the international flagship professional and trade event for the library and information services sector, bringing together over 3,500 participants from more than 120 countries.

The IFLA/Brill Open Access Award was awarded to Eelco Ferwerda from the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) (the Netherlands).

DOAB, the Directory of Open Access Books, is the discovery service for Open Access books. DOAB provides a searchable index to peer-reviewed books published under an OA business model, with links to the full text at the publisher's website. DOAB is a service of the OAPEN Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Open Access monographs.
