The Society of Neuroscience has announced the appointment of Dora Angelaki as editor-in-chief of The Journal of Neuroscience, effective January 1. She will succeed John Maunsell, who served as editor-in-chief of the journal for seven years.
Angelaki, the Wilhelmina Robertson professor and chair of the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, will serve as editor-in-chief through December 2019.
When SfN announced Angelaki's appointment in April, the Search Committee cited her clear assessment of the challenges and opportunities ahead for JN and her editorial experience with The Journal of Neuroscience, eLife, and the Journal of Neurophysiology as the primary reasons behind her selection. Angelaki previously chaired SfN's Program Committee and has served on SfN's Scientific Publications and Finance committees.
The Journal of Neuroscience is the official journal of the Society for Neuroscience. The Journal of Neuroscience publishes papers on a broad range of topics of general interest to those working on the nervous system.
